The Brass Polishing & Lacquer Process

Brass Polishing & Lacquer Step 1

The first and most important stage in restoring the metalwork is the polishing. This is a highly skilled and dangerous job. The polisher must keep all the shape and detail in the items he is polishing and produce the best finish he can obtain from the materials.

Brass Polishing & Lacquer Step 2

After polishing the items are inspected and cleaned ready for the lacquering process. The finished items are brushed lacquered with a ships grade lacquer and left for 24 - 48 hours to cure.
